This is the story of Janakaraja's wise detachment. King Janaka was stunned to hear the kirtan. The kirtan was very colorful. Meanwhile, a guard came running English Story and said softly in Janaka's ear, 'Maharaj! The palace is on fire.' Janak said, 'I am listening to Kirtan. Worshiping God. Don't say anything now. come later.' Some time passed.
The guard came running again. He said, 'Maharaja! A fire has broken out. It will spread to Kothighara in a short time.' Still Janaka was stunned. The kirtan continued. Then the guard brought the third news. 'Maharaja! Our palace is almost burnt down and now the fire is likely to spread to the city. The houses of all the subjects will be English Story burnt down.' But after hearing this, Janak suddenly got up.
He said, 'Stop the kirtan. I go to the village. I have to take care of the protection of all subjects. That is my responsibility.' That is, the king did not have his own palace. He wanted to save the life and property of the people.
Meaning :- A person's reputation lasts for centuries only if he is engaged in duty and detached from his own comforts.
