 English Story

A drummer and the English Story same boy went on a pilgrimage to earn money. He made people happy by playing his instruments, people were happy with his playing and paid him a lot of money. Both were happy. 

On their way back home they had to cross the forest. Many thieves lived in that forest. The boy thinks that we will beat the drum in the forest in such a way that the thieves will be scared by the sound. The boy starts beating the drum loudly.

But, his father says - son, beat the drum in such a way that the thieves should think that a royal procession is taking place.'

The boy ignores his father's  English Story advice and starts playing the same drum as before. As soon as they hear the sound of that drum, the thieves realize that this procession has not been successful. Thieves attack both of them and rob them. Father is very angry. They say, 'If only you had listened to me,' the boy hangs his head in shame.

Meaning: Always listen to elders.
