Tulsidas truly English Story obeyed his wife and turned his back on the world. And he began to do penance. Twelve years passed by doing penance. During these twelve years, Tulsidasa did very severe penance.

For twelve years he used to water a tree regularly every day. One day they went out to water that tree, then they met a ghoul on that tree.

The demon said to him, "I am pleased with your service. Ask for whatever boon you want."

Hearing that, Tulsidas English Story said to him, "I don't want anything else now. Just give me the gift of Lord Ramchandra."

Hearing Rama's name, the demon retreated and said, "Maruti is Rama's servant. I show you his darshan. There, where you go daily to listen to the Puranas, there is an old Brahmin who is Maruti."

Tulsidas said to him, "But how shall I know them?"

The demon said to them, "There is one who comes first and goes last, and he wears a cap on his head, and has a stick in his hand. He is wearing the robe of Ramnama."

Tulsidas Ashram came back as soon as Pisachcha said this. The next day they went to Nemane Purana. They saw that indeed the old Brahmin was coming there. As soon as the Purana was over, he used to leave last. He did the same today. As soon as he left, Tulsidas followed him and saluted him on the way. While blessing him, the Brahmin said to him, "I have nothing to give you. For I am a poor Brahmin."
