English Story 

 
There was a woodcutter in a village. He made his living by cutting wood. One day he went to a river bank in search of wood. He found a big tree. He English Story climbed up the tree to cut a branch and started cutting the branch. Suddenly, the axe fell from his hand into the river. He did not have enough money to buy another axe. He became very sad and came to the river bank and cried. Hearing his crying, the weeping river, aka Sarita Devi, appeared and asked him why he was crying. The woodcutter tells Sarita Devi that his axe fell into the river.

Sarita Devi immediately dives Hindi Story into the river and appears with a golden axe in her hand and asks the woodcutter if this is your axe. The woodcutter humbly says, "Devi, this is not my axe." Then Devi shows him the silver coin. He shakes his head and tells Devi that this is not my axe either.

Now the goddess again takes a Marathi Story dip in the river and emerges with a load of iron, just as the woodcutter says, "Yes, this is my axe, Goddess." The goddess says, "You are very honest, so I will keep these three axes as a reward for your honesty."

Meaning: Always speak the truth.
